I've been following Google Summer of Code for several years now, primarily through the lens of my work with Derby.
Two summers ago, I was an interested observer.
Last summer, I signed up to be a mentor, but in the end didn't get matched with a student intern.
This summer, I signed up again, and have been matched with a student, Eranda Sooriyabandara, of Sri Lanka. I will be actively mentoring in the Derby-test-and-fix project.
This will be my first summer doing this, so I'll have a lot to learn.
