Robert Leon Pendleton, 1937-2025

Just 72 hours ago, my father was sitting in the family room debating the virtues and challenges of artificial intelligence with my son.

Time goes by so fast.

I’ll have more to say down the line, for now it’s enough to say: dad, I miss you and I love you and every time I was with you I learned something.

  1. Bryan, I think the thing your dad loved the most about you know one of the things was that every time you were with him he also learned something new. He was so grateful When you tell him something and sometimes he’d look at you slightly doubting you and then he’d look it up himself and say to you the next time he saw you, “you know you were right” and then he would say “isn’t that interesting?” And then he’d have some other deeper or more intriguing piece of information to share with you. It’s like sometimes you just scratched the surface of his interest and then he dig into it and come back with an answer for further conversation.

  2. Ugh, too bad I can’t edit my comment… that’s what I get for using the speaker to type in my message.
