Karjakin had the white pieces.
And, OOH! A Ruy Lopez! My favorite opening of all!
It seems to me that Karjakin actually had the advantage, and had the play, but somewhere around move 25 or so he must have played an inaccuracy, because all of a sudden Carlsen invaded the back rank and Karjakin settled for a repetition of moves.
So.
Two draws to start.
This is not going to be an easy match.
