According to SemiAccurate, the folks at Inphi can now implement 8 terabytes of DRAM on a single system! They do this using something called Isolation Memory Buffers, which I wasn't familiar with, but will now go and read about.
Regardless of the particular details (and according to the comments on the SemiAccurate page, some quibbling is possible), the trend toward greater memory density and greater memory capacity just seems to keep plugging along!
